Davis and McDonald Hall, who have been co-coaches for two years, had what both independently called their most "refreshing" season this year. But even as they entered the playoffs, they had no idea what they were about to accomplish.
"We never imagined we'd be in the finals," McDonald Hall said. "It wasn't even written on our calendars."
Maybe not, but after losing two games early in the season that dropped them near the bottom of the Interscholastic Athletic Association of Maryland A Conference, these two women mapped out a way back to the championship game. Then they orchestrated another victory and finished with the title and a 16-2-1 record. They did it witih 12sophomores and just two players with any varsity playing experience after losing 14 of last year's players to graduation.

Davis, in her 10th season as the Grizzlies coach, said: "We rebuilt and reinvented ourselves. It's really refreshing as a coach to get the opportunity to start anew."
