So they came to the Mawrtians field with a goal.

And Century did that, as the two teams battled to the final four seconds before Bryn Mawr's Molly Danko scored the game-winner in the 3-2 match between the Carroll County public school and the private school from Baltimore.
"It was definitely a big win for us," said Danko, a junior. "They're really a good team and you never know what's going to happen. Games between teams like this can be crazy. We knew we had to play hard every minute to pull it out."
Bryn Mawr coach Jeanette Budzik was relieved at the end, but not surprised.
"We've done this a couple of times this season, battled back from behind," she said. "We had a strong push at the end. We can play that way for an entire game, but we had a rough start today. Century played well and [was] very aggressive."
The rough start came because Century was able to use its speed and stick skills to keep possession of the ball for much of the early going, pressuring Bryn Mawr and its goalie Claire Edelman (6 saves) in the first half. When Alice Mercer scored with 15:26 to play before half-time, it gave Century a lift.
"When I scored, I felt like it started us off," said Mercer, a junior. "I think it made us think, 'We can do this!'"
But Bryn Mawr picked up its play after that and never let Century get comfortable. Just over five minutes into the second half Ellie Knott got the ball on a corner play and slapped it into the goal for a 1-1 tie.
Century responded with a goal by Kailey Wolfe, her 14th of the season, to forge ahead, 2-1, with 18:52 to play and from there the two sides played evenly up and down the field with neither getting an advantage.
Then, with time racing away, Bryn Mawr made one more strong attack, getting the ball to the front of the Century net, where goalie Steffie Pfisterer (9 saves), caught it between her feet. It looked like Century would hold on, but then Caroline Joy pushed the ball through Pfisterer's feet and into the goal for a 2-2 tie with 1:43 to play.
The Knights rushed the ball quickly into Bryn Mawr's end, but the Mawrtian's Hannah Park got it back, made a big run down the left side of the field, and passed the ball to the far post where Danko tapped it in with four seconds to play.
"We love tough competition," said Budzik. "And we love the end result."
