Runner Of the Year: Ryan Forsyth

Runner Of Year

Ryan Forsyth

Severna Park, senior

Top-ranked Severna Park proved to be one of the most dominant teams in recent years, and Forsyth led the way.

Forsyth was the Falcons' top runner throughout the season. His consistency was impressive as he broke five course records, even twice setting a new mark at Chaptico Regional Park this season.

He kept getting better throughout the fall, ending the season on a strong note by pulling off the tough feat of winning the Anne Arundel County Class 4A East region and then the Class 4A state title.

Severna Park won the team title in each event — with very little trouble.

Forsyth's strong running let him combine with fellow All-Metro pick Rhys Burgett to form a tough 1-2 combination for the Falcons, but it was Forsyth setting the tone. With such a strong group at the top of their lineup, Severna Park couldn't be beat.
