KEYS TO VICTORY
Overwhelming talent across the board has the Lakers off to an impressive start, establishing themselves as the team to beat in the Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association A Conference. Heacock and Stanwick provide a potent one-two punch, but they are only the starting point of an explosive attack. Unmatched depth can be found in other places as well for the Lakers, with Ben Pridemore and Tally Bruno anchoring the midfield and Mac Pons one of the area's finest defensemen. The Eagles consistently play disciplined lacrosse and will have to again avoid lapses to get past Boys' Latin. Frederick leads a deep and experienced midfield and Sweeney's fine play in the cage can frustrate opponents. Keeping the ball away from the Lakers' attack and making the most of their possessions will be a must for the Eagles. In recent years, the games between the teams have been tightly contested and many have gone down to the wire. Last year, Boys' Latin edged McDonogh, 8-7, late in the regular season and then earned a 7-3 win in the playoffs.
