Al Holley named new boys basketball coach at Overlea

Veteran boys basketball coach Al Holley has returned to Baltimore County, as he was named the new coach at Overlea this week.

Holley made his mark at Milford Mill, going 125-29 in six seasons while guiding the Millers to two state titles and four Baltimore County championships before moving on to Friends in 2012.

He spent five seasons at the Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association B Conference school, leading the Quakers to two playoff appearances.

“I did want to get back in Baltimore County to coach and Overlea has a lot of potential, so it looks like a good match. They want to build the program and that’s what I like to do, so I’m excited to get started,” Holley said.

Overlea finished 14-13 last season, falling to Pikesville, 54-53, in the Class 1A North Section I semifinal.
