Ever wanted to go back to college for the day? Don’t miss: 3 top lecturers in Baltimore

Boys basketball Game of the Week: No. 1 St. Frances vs. No. 2 Poly

No. 1 St. Frances (18-2) vs. No. 2 Poly (7-1)

When: Monday, 5:45 p.m.

Where: Goucher College

Coaches: Nick Myles, St. Frances; Sam Brand, Poly

St. Frances: Adrian Baldwin, So., PG; Elijah Epps, Sr., G

Poly: Demetrius Mims, Sr., G; Justin Lewis, So., F

The No. 1 Panthers, coming off an impressive 71-61 home win against No. 3 John Carroll on Wednesday, will look to continue to separate themselves from the rest of the area pack against the formidable Engineers. While Baldwin and Epps are the focal points, the Panthers have played balanced ball with contributions from everybody on a deep roster that wears opponents down. Junior Rajeir Jones and sophomore Jordan Toles also are threats along the perimeter and in transition, while senior forward Koran Moore pounds inside and rebounds. Poly, the defending Class 3A state champion, welcomes all challengers. Mims is the team’s leader and the team’s success runs through him with plenty of surrounding talent. Lewis brings size and athleticism to a frontcourt that is tough to match up against. Sophomore point guard Rahim Ali can score and distribute with senior guard Cleveland Horton and Seth Jones also playing big roles with their ability to do the little things to help close out wins. Neither team has lost to an area opponent this season.
