The senior's performance on both sides of the ball is one of the reasons the Falcons are riding the area's longest active winning streak (15 games). In Friday's 52-16 regional semifinal win over Reginald Lewis, the 6-foot, 200-pound running back scored four touchdowns and rolled up 503 yards from scrimmage. He ran for 276 yards and two touchdowns on 14 carries. He also scored on an 80-yard kickoff return and a 96-yard interception return. At strong safety, he made 23 tackles, including 14 solo. For the season, Wells has scored 29 touchdowns, rushing for 20 and for 1,613 yards, and he has 76 solo tackles. He is drawing interest from several colleges, including Monmouth.
