The versatile senior scored four touchdowns to lead the No. 1 Greyhounds to an impressive 51-27 victory over Oscar Smith (Va.) at the I-95 Kickoff Classic. All-Metro last season as a cornerback, Jones does a bit of everything on offense, rushing for three touchdowns and 195 yards on 13 carries and catching two passes for 35 yards and a touchdown against Oscar Smith. He also had five tackles on defense and one pass breakup. For the season, he has scored seven touchdowns and gained 662 all-purpose yards in two games. Jones, who has a 3.1 GPA, is perhaps the area's most highly recruited player, with Alabama, Auburn, Ohio State, Florida, Notre Dame, Penn State, West Virginia, Maryland, Virginia and Virginia Tech in a battle for his talents.
