The junior pitcher-outfielder made significant contributions on the mound and at the plate as the No. 8 Gaels had a 5-0 record last week. On April 23, he tossed a complete game in a 6-2 win at No. 1 Calvert Hall, limiting the Cardinals to six hits with five strikeouts. In Thursday's 4-3 win over then-No. 2 Gilman, he went 1-for-3 at the plate and drove in the game's first run with a double. Mount St. Joseph won the Intra-City Tournament in Philadelphia over the weekend with three wins. In the Gaels' 10-8 win over Grand Street Campus (N.Y.) on Saturday, Solomon was 1-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI. On Sunday, Mount St. Joseph defeated Neumann-Goretti (Pa.), 10-8, with Solomon going 1-for-3 with two RBIs and one run scored. In his second year on varsity, Solomon is 5-0 with a 2.21 ERA, 57 strikeouts and .329 batting average. He has committed to Notre Dame.
