The junior won his third straight Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association tournament championship on Saturday at Mount St. Joseph, scoring a 22-7 technical fall against Archbishop Spalding's Cole Graves in the title bout at 145 pounds. After coming away with three first-period pins in earlier rounds, Clark dominated Graves from the start in the final to be named the tournament's Outstanding Wrestler. No. 1 McDonogh earned the team title by a 248.5-216 margin over No. 3 John Carroll, the second-place finisher. Clark, a National Preps champion last year, improves to 39-4 with 21 pins this season. He is now 129-15 with 64 pins in his three years at McDonogh. Maintaining a 3.2 grade point average, he is still undecided on where he will wrestle in college.
