Brady Acker
Atholton, junior, outfielder
After batting .351 with 21 stolen bases last season, Acker earned a spot on this year's Maryland State Association of Baseball Coaches' preseason All-State team. UNC-Charlotte, UNC-Wilmington, George Mason and George Washington are among the schools recruiting the Raiders' leadoff hitter.
Logan Dubbe
Glenelg, senior, pitcher-outfielder
An All-Howard County first-team selection, Dubbe was 6-2 with a 1.04 ERA and 56 strikeouts in a team-leading 52 innings pitched last season. Dubbe also led the Gladiators offensively, hitting .392 with two home runs and 25 RBIs in 24 games.
Nic Fisher
Chesapeake-AA, senior, first baseman
Picked for the MSABC preseason All-State team, Fisher batted .439 with two home runs and 16 RBIs last season, including an average of almost .620 in April. The Cougars will rely on the All-Anne Arundel County first-team choice to carry them defensively at first base.
Scott Mitchell
South River, senior, pitcher-infielder
Mitchell hit .344 last year, and he had a 3.24 ERA in 41 innings on the mound for the Seahawks. The MSABC preseason All-State pick, who set the school record for doubles in a season as a sophomore in 2011, is committed to Radford.
Cody Morris
Reservoir, sophomore, pitcher
With a fastball near 90 mph to go along with a curveball and changeup, the All-Metro second-team choice emerged as one of the top pitchers in the Baltimore area as a freshman. A member of the MSABC preseason All-State team, he was 7-1 with a 0.99 ERA and 65 strikeouts in 49 2/3 innings pitched in 2012.
Alex Murphy
Calvert Hall, senior, catcher
A four-year starter for the Cardinals, Murphy batted .460 with six home runs and 39 RBIs as Calvert Hall won the MIAA A Conference title last season. Picked for the MSABC preseason All-State team, he ranks second in school history in home runs (18), hits (136) and doubles (36). He is committed to Wake Forest.
