Varsity roundup: Northeast tops Century in baseball

Joe Rivera pitched a three-hitter with eight strikeouts and the No. 7 Northeast baseball team beat visiting Century, 4-1, in the title game of the Harry Lentz Memorial Tournament on Saturday.

Rivera and Eric Grantland each collected RBIs, and the Eagles improved to 7-1.

Northeast beat Annapolis Area Christian School to advance to the championship.

No. 6 Glenelg 10, Thomas Johnson 6: Winner Tyler Hoeflich limited the host Patriots to three hits, and the Gladiators (7-0) came from one run down to score five runs in the seventh.

Glenelg led 5-0 through five innings.

No. 9 C. Milton Wright 3, John Carroll 2: Steven Rappe had 13 strikeouts as the host Mustangs (5-2) defeated the Patriots (5-5).

Conner Reeves hit a home run for John Carroll.

Boys lacrosse

No. 8 Severn 14, Severna Park 9: Kyle Moran had four goals and two assists and the host Admirals (10-1) beat the Falcons.

Severn has beaten two Anne Arundel County opponents in a row, having downed Annapolis, 8-2, on Thursday.

Girls lacrosse

No. 14 Roland Park 11, No. 11 C.Milton Wright 9: Audrey Todd had a hat trick to power the Reds (5-2) past the Mustangs (3-2) at the Anne Arundel Community College Tournament. Roland Park led 6-4 at the half.
