Roundup: Jones helps keep No. 1 Aberdeen perfect in rout of Elkton

University of Maryland-bound Brionna Jones scored 24 points and pulled down her 1,000th rebound at the 7:40 mark in the fourth quarter as visiting top-ranked Aberdeen (3-0) downed Elkton, 66-28, in girls basketball Monday.

Jones will be recognized for the milestone before Wednesday's homegame at 6:45 p.m. game against Bel Air. Jimmia McCluskey added 16 points for the Eagles.

No. 13 Howard 49, Wilde Lake 32: Sydney Biniak and Jayda Gilmore each scored 14 points to lead the Lions over the host Wildecats. With the win, Howard remains undefeated at 6-0.


No. 7 City 70, Reginald F. Lewis 33: The Grant brothers, John and Juwan, combined for 34 points as the undefeated Knights (5-0) cruised to victory over the Falcons in Baltimore City action. Omari George added 14 points for City.

Glen Burnie 61, Leonardtown 46: Taequan Hall had 21 points and freshman guard Camari Wilkerson had 11 as the host Gophers beat the Raiders. Glen Burnie coach Mike Rudd picked up his 250th victory.
