Roundup: No. 7 Lake Clifton boys rip W.E.B. DuBois in basketball

W.E.B. DuBois' game plan Thursday was to slow No. 7 Lake Clifton. It didn't work, however, as the Lakers rolled to a 61-28 victory.

Kevin Carr finished with 12 points and 12 rebounds to lead the host Lakers (2-0).

Douglass 78, Reginald F. Lewis 53: The visiting Ducks (2-0) used six 3-pointers to outdistance the Falcons (1-2).

Granite Baptist 47, Arlington Baptist 29: Kyle Oserraos scored 13 points to lead the visiting Braves (5-0).

Masonville Cove 87, Cristo Rey Jesuit 69: Antoine Montgomery, Steven Chiamilio and DaQuan Caver each scored 13 points as the Bayhawks (2-0) beat the Hornets at Baltimore City Community College.

Girls basketball

Bullis Prep (D.C.) 55, No. 13 Western 36: The visiting Bulldogs worked the ball inside to their post players and made 18 of 24 free throws to key the win. Qierra Murray had a game-high 17 points for the Doves (1-1).


No. 5 Owings Mills 66, Kenwood 18: The host Eagles (1-0) outpinned the Bluebirds 11-3 to win their opening match.
