Varsity roundup (Sept. 11): Leigh James' hat trick lifts Garrison Forest in field hockey

Field hockey

No. 4 Garrison Forest 3, No. 15 Hereford 0: Leigh James had a hat trick to lead the host Grizzlies (5-0) past the Bulls (1-3). Savannah Rumsey made 10 saves for Garrison Forest.

No. 13 Dulaney 3, Catonsville 0: Zoe Hermann scored two first-half goals and Sidney Snyder added one in the second half to lift the Lions (3-1) over the host Comets (0-1).

Boys soccer

No. 4 C. Milton Wright 2, Century 1: Jayson Butler and Aidan Moran each scored to lead the host Mustangs (3-1) over the Knights (2-1). C.M. Wright led 1-0 at the half.

No. 6 Meade 4, Annapolis 1: Tosin Ayokunle had a hat trick to lead the host Mustangs (2-0) past the Panthers (0-1). Meade outshot Annapolis, 12-6.

Girls soccer

No. 9 Mercy 6, Severn 2: Ada Clare Tempert and Laine Reddish each had two goals for the visiting Magic (3-0) in their victory over the Admirals (0-3).

Girls volleyball

No. 8 Arundel 3, Severna Park 0:Mackenzie Meehan had 12 kills to lead the visiting Wildcats (2-0) past the Falcons (0-2). Arundel won, 25-19, 25-22, 24-23.

No. 13 Bel Air 3, Bohemia Manor 0: Maddie Reagan had five kills and the host Bobcats (2-0) beat the Eagles ( 1-2). Bel Air won, 25-16, 25-11, 25-16.

Harford Tech 3, Fallston 1: Kerrigan Clem and Jada Maddox each had seven aces and seven kills to lead the Cobras (2-0) past the host Cougars (0-2). Harford Tech won, 25-27, 25-16, 25-22, 25-19.

Catonsville 3, Lansdowne 0: Gabby Douglas had six kills and three aces and Maddi Sampson had 22 assists and two aces to lead the Comets (2-0) past the host Vikings (0-1). Catonsville won, 25-21, 28-26, 25-3.
