A day after Loyola's bid to secure a berth in the Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association A Conference championship was interrupted by lightning atJohnny UnitasStadium, the No. 2 Dons finished the job with a 13-7 victory over No. 3 Gilman on Wednesday afternoon at the same site.
Leading, 13-5, with 6:57 left in the fourth quarter when play was stopped Tuesday night, all Loyola (15-3) had to do was play keep-away against the Greyhounds (12-4) to advance to the conference final against archrival No. 1 Calvert Hall (15-2) for the first time since 1989.
The final is Friday at 8 p.m. Unitas Stadium.
Despite their best effort, the Greyhounds, who had a man advantage for the first two minutes after play resumed, could produce only a pair of goals by junior attackman Max Greene to make the score more respectable.

No. 14 C. Milton Wright 15, Hereford 11: The Mustangs (11-4) fell behind 6-2 before rallying to draw within one at halftime in a Class 3A-2A North Regional championship at Bel Air.
Brook Williams finished with a game-high six goals.
St. Paul's 11, No. 1 Gilman 5: The Crusaders used a five-run fifth inning to upset the Greyhounds in an MIAA A Conference playoff. Austin Sutor held Gilman to four runs on seven hits. St. Paul's hosts Loyola today, with the winner advancing to the semifinals.
Annapolis Area Christian 9, St. Vincent Pallotti 5: Brian Parreira homered and drove in five runs as the host Eagles beat the Panthers to advance to the MIAA B Conference championship.
Chris Van Riper allowed two runs on four hits for his seventh win of the season.
No. 3 Reservoir 2, Centennial 0: Right-hander Cody Morris (7-1) pitched a one-hitter and the host Gators (19-1) beat the Eagles in Class 3A East semifinal.
No. 7 Northeast 5, No. 12 River Hill 3: Brandon O'Malley (8-1) gave up one run on three hits and struck out six in five innings for the host Eagles (14-6) in a Class 3A East regional quarterfinal.
No. 8 Patterson Mill 10, Rising Sun 4: Griffin Marge hit a grand slam in the fifth and James Andrews worked seven innings for the visiting Huskies (16-4) in a Class 2A East regional semifinal/District VII sectional.
No. 9 Severna Park 5, North Point 4: Trailing 4-3 with two outs in the top of the seventh inning, Bradley Keith hit a two-run homer to lift the visiting Falcons (16-4) over the Eagles in a Class 4A East regional semifinal.
No. 1 Eastern Tech 5, Hereford 0: Winning pitcher Jordan Cargile struck out seven for the host Mavericks (19-2) in a Class 3A North regional semifinal
No. 5 Reservoir 6, Stephen Decatur 1: Winner Rachel Brown's shutout was spoiled by a run in the seventh inning in a Class 3A East regional quarterfinal.
The host Gators improved to 17-3.
No. 8 Broadneck 1, No. 3 Severna Park 0: Maja Henson hit a sacrifice fly to center to score Kasey McDowell in the first inning and right-hander Emilee Pflueger (13-5) pitched a five-hit shutout as the host Bruins (13-5) upset the Falcons (15-4) in a Class 4A East semifinal.
No. 9 Chesapeake-AA 4, Glen Burnie 3: With the score tied 3-3 in the bottom of the seventh, Jacqueline Richards reached on an error, moved to second on a bunt, stole third and scored on a wild pitch for the host Cougars (18-5) in a Class 4A East regional semifinal.
No. 14 North Harford 5, No. 11 C. Milton Wright 2: The host Hawks (11-3) trailed 2-0 before scoring three runs in the bottom of the third inning to pull away in a Class 3A North regional semifinal.
