Roundup: No. 8 Chesapeake-AA's Spinnenweber pitches 6-inning perfect game in win

Andrew Spinnenweber pitched a perfect game for host Chesapeake-AA as the No. 8 Cougars (14-2) shut out Glen Burnie in six innings, 10-0, in Anne Arundel County league action on a rainy afternoon.

Austin Weiss provided the big blow for Chesapeake with a three-run home run in the fifth inning. Spinnenweber recorded 13 strikeouts.

No. 9 North Harford 9, North East 4: The Hawks improved to 14-2 behind Brian Shaffer's 2-for-2 day — including a double, home run and two RBIs — as they defeated the Indians in league play.

Luke Johnson and Richie Greene each had two hits and two RBIs in the win.


C. Milton Wright 4, No. 14 Bel Air 2: In a crosstown rematch between the Bobcats and Mustangs, C. Milton Wright held on for the victory and season sweep.

Morghan Fulton, the winning pitcher, and Kaitlyn Hamlin had RBI singles that provided the Mustangs' crucial late runs.
