Roundup: South River upsets No. 4 Arundel, 8-2, in baseball

Reliever Sean Healy allowed two runs on four hits in six innings as South River baseball upset No. 4 Arundel, 8-2, on Saturday in baseball.

Healy walked six and struck out eight. Arundel (11-2) scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning.

No. 1 Calvert Hall 10, McDonogh 1: Nick Delp worked seven innings, gave up one run on six hits and struck out four as the Cardinals (16-3, 9-2 Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association A Conference) beat the host Eagles (1-12, 1-11).

No. 14 Franklin 4, Harford Tech 3: Ian Helphenstine hit a two-out solo home run in the top of the seventh to lift the Indians (12-2) over the host Cobras (6-4).



Girls lacrosse

No. 5 Mount Hebron 11, No. 2 Marriotts Ridge 10: Jen Giles scored the game-winner with 1:05 left and the host Vikings (10-1) upset the Mustangs (9-2).

No. 4 Archbishop Spalding 18, Calverton 10: Emily Cooper scored six goals to lead the host Cavaliers (15-5) past the Cougars (6-6).

No. 6 Roland Park wins two: The host Reds (13-4) beat St. Stephens & St.Agnes, 12-11, and Georgetown Visitation, 21-20 in double overtime, at their Red Hot Invitational.

Roland Park's Francesca Whitehurst had 12 goals in the two games.

South River 11, No. 7 C. Milton Wright 10: Kassidy Bresnahan scored the game-winner with 42 seconds left to lift the host Seahawks (6-4) over the Mustangs (6-3).
