Lucy Swindell came up big for host Garrison Forest in girls lacrosse, scoring the tying goal with 20 seconds left in regulation and the game-winner with 16 seconds left in the second period of overtime as the host Grizzlies (2-9, 1-9 Interscholastic Athletic Association of Maryland A Conference) upset No. 3 Notre Dame Prep, 12-11, on Wednesday.
Swindell finished with four goals. The Blazers (8-4, 7-3) used their midfield ride to cause turnovers and take a 6-3 lead at the half.
No. 1 McDonogh 15, No. 9 Bryn Mawr 7: The visiting Mawrtians (7-6, 6-4 IAAM A Conference) hung with the Eagles (16-0, 10-0) for a half before falling.
Megan Whittle and Brindi Griffin each scored four goals as McDonogh claimed its 107th straight win.
No. 14 St. Paul's 13, No. 6 Roland Park 12: Ashlyn McGovern and Maggie Root each scored three goals as the host Gators (6-7, 5-6 IAAM A Conference) upset the Reds (11-4, 8-3).
Mount Hebron 2, No. 13 Marriotts Ridge 1: With the game tied at 1 in the bottom of the seventh inning, Jordan Bellido de Luna hit an RBI single up the middle to help the Vikings (9-5) upset the visiting Mustangs (9-3).
Severna Park 9, No. 7 Chesapeake-AA 3: Haley Simonds worked seven innings, gave up three runs on five hits, walked four and struck out five as the Falcons (2-6) upset the host Cougars (9-5).
North County 6, No. 8 Broadneck 5: With North County trailing 5-4, Sydney McCain hit a walk-off, two-run homer in the bottom of the seventh as the host Knights (6-8) upset the Bruins (10-5).
Winner Ciana Bayza (4-3) struck out three.
Perry Hall 13, Loch Raven 3:
The host Gators, celebrating the 50th anniversary of their softball program, beat the Raiders in a game attended by two dozen former players and the program's first coach, Emily "Toni" Thon, who threw out the ceremonial first pitch.
