The No. 2 Marriotts Ridge girls lacrosse team won by 10 goals in both games at its invitational tournament Saturday.
The Mustangs (4-0) beat Conestoga (Pa.), 17-7, and Mount de Sales, 16-6. Taylor Hensh had eight goals against the Pioneers (0-3), and Marissa Davey had five goals against the Sailors (0-6).
No. 5 Century wins two: The Knights (3-0) beat Mount de Sales, 14-9, and edged Conestoga, 18-17, in overtime at the Marriotts Ridge Invitational tournament.
Marissa Donoghue had four goals against the Sailors, and Hannah Warther had 10 against the Pioneers.
No. 6 Loyola 12, Cherry Creek (Colo.) 5: The visiting Bruins (3-1) put together a three-goal run in the third quarter to make it a one-goal game, but the Dons (3-3) scored twice in the final 30 seconds of the third to start a 6-0 run and pull away in drizzling rain at St. Paul's.
Ryan Conrad and Alex Roesner each scored four goals for Loyola, which led 6-2 at halftime. Michael Morean led Cherry Creek with two goals.
Loyola struck first when Conrad scored with 9:30 left in the first quarter. The Bruins answered by scoring twice over a 29- second span.
The Dons went on a 5-0 run over two quarters that ended with a scoring feed from Pickett Riehl to Roesner with 3:47 left in the half.
Archbishop Curley 14, Sts. Peter & Paul 13, OT: Anthony Scarpola scooped up a loose ball and scored the game-winner from 8 yards out to lift the host Friars (5-1, 4-0 Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association B Conference) over the Sabres (1-2, 1-1) on Friday.
