Varsity hoops roundup: Oakland Mills boys finish regular season 22-0, 19-0

No. 10 Oakland Mills completed its perfect boys basketball regular season on its home court. The Scorpions extended their 10-point halftime lead and beat Atholton, 58-37, on Thursday night.

Oakland Mills finished with regular-season records of 22-0 overall and 19-0 in Howard County. Lavon Long led the way with 15 points.

Benjamin Franklin 54, Reginald F. Lewis 34: Kevin McBride scored 15 points to lead the host Bayhawks (19-3, 10-1 City) past the Falcons (0-12, 0-5).


No. 11 River Hill 58, No. 13 Howard 47: Megan Sterling scored a game-high 22 points to lead the host Hawks (19-3, 18-1) over the Lions (19-3, 16-3).

River Hill clinched its first county championship since 2009-10 and the top seed in the Class 3A East regional playoffs.

No. 15 Patterson Mill 69, Fallston 21: Qalea Ismail scored a game-high 21 points to power the visiting Huskies (1-6, 10-2 Upper Chesapeake Bay Athletic Conference) past the Cougars (5-13, 2-7).
