The quarterfinal game between No. 5 Roland Park and No. 12 Seton Keough in the Interscholastic Athletic Association of Maryland A Conference girls basketball playoffs was not short of heroics.
Keough's Kari Zeps made a 3-pointer to tie the score at 50 with 32 seconds left. The host Reds answered when Lindsey Edwards made a baseline runner with seven seconds left to lift Roland Park to a 52-50 victory Tuesday night.
Edwards finished with a game-high 15 points and Zeps had 14 for Seton Keough (11-15, 6-8).
No. 1 Archbishop Spalding 59, Mercy 24: The Cavaliers (24-1, 13-1) beat the Magic (7-19, 0-15) for a second consecutive time.
No. 2 Aberdeen 71, Fallston 12: Ebony Jones scored a game-high 21 points for the visiting Eagles (18-3).
No. 3 McDonogh 46, John Carroll 30: Danielle Edwards had 10points for the host in an IAAM A Conference quarterfinal.
No. 9 City 61, Dunbar 33: DeAsia Meyers scored 15 points to lead the visiting Knights (19-2) past the Poets.
City must beat No. 4 Poly on Friday to make the city playoffs.
No. 11 River Hill 50, Mount Hebron 46: The visiting Hawks (18-3) won the first and last quarters to win.
Megan Sterling had a game-high 18 points for River Hill.
No. 13 Howard 37, Reservoir 36: Sydney Biniak (10 points) went 1-for-2 from the line with nine seconds left for a 36-34 Lions lead. Tara Thompson's layup drew the visiting Gators (17-3) within one with one second left, but no closer.
No. 14 Patterson Mill 68, Winters Mill 58: Qalea Ismail scored a game-high 25 points and Samantha Herman added 20 to power the host Huskies (15-6) past the Falcons.
Mount de Sales 63, Indian Creek 53: The visiting Sailors (13-10, 6-5) led for most of the game by eight or more points in an IAAM B Conference quarterfinal.
Eve Lukowski scored 22 points and Gabby Cha added 20 for Mount de Sales. Sidney Cole finished with a game-high 35 points for Indian Creek (8-7, 4-5).
Friends 29, Garrison Forest 28: With 35 seconds left, Rachel Kehoe (17 points) made a 3-pointer to lift the Quakers (11-12, 7-10) over the Grizzlies (11-9, 9-5) in an IAAM C Conference quarterfinal.
St. Mary's 63, Annapolis Area Christian 41: Samantha Mocniak scored a game-high 24 points and Maddy Troisi added 20 points to power the host Saints past the Eagles in an IAAM B Conference quarterfinal.

No. 13 Lake Clifton 85, Baltimore Freedom Academy 22: Cortell Henson scored 14 points and the host Lakers (15-7) were never threatened.
Frederick Douglass 74, Knowledge And Science Academy 53: Corey Carter scored a game-high 21 points to power the host Ducks (15-4).
Benjamin Franklin 55, Southwestern 43: Breyon Graves scored 14 points and the visiting Bayhawks (16-3, 9-1 city) took sole possession of first place in Division II.
Centennial 52, Long Reach 51: Timi Tinyoue made a free throw with 1.2 seconds left to lift the host Eagles (13-8).
