Roundup: No. 4 Spalding girls beat No. 9 Roland Park, 54-44

Jade Scaite scored 13 points and Camille Calhoun had 12 to lead No. 4 Archbishop Spalding past visiting No. 9 Roland Park, 54-44, on Wednesday in girls basketball.

The Cavaliers improved to 15-6, and the Reds fell to 11-10.

Spalding led 28-22 at the half and limited Roland Park's Daisy Alaeze to six points. The Reds' Beth Kelly had a game-high 19 points.

No. 2 McDonogh 51, Seton Keough 31: With 15 points, Tiersa Winder led the visiting Eagles (21-1) to a victory against the Gators (10-11). Aaliyah Wilson scored 10 points for Seton Keough.

No. 6 Dunbar 62, Edmondson 7: Michelle Wright had a game-high 17 points as all 11 Poets scored. Dunbar (12-5) led 39-0 at halftime.

No. 10 St. Vincent Pallotti 63, Severn 37: The host Admirals hung with the Panthers in the first half before Pallotti went on a 26-3 ruin in the third quarter. Tiffany Padgett scored 16 points and Beverly Ogunrinde had 15 for the Panthers, who were tied at 20 at halftime.

Franklin 33, No. 11 Cantonsville 32: Arianna Foote scored a balanced eight points per half, and the host Indians upset the Comets (15-3).

Catonsville never led in the second half and failed to get off a shot in the closing 14 seconds of the game. Taylor Barton led Catonsville with 13 points.

No. 12 John Carroll 57, Garrison Forest 46: Miranda Ripken, who recenty passed the 1,000 career-point milestone, scored a team-high 19 points for the Patriots. John Carroll was up 33-25 at the half and maintained the lead throughout the game.

Boys basketball

Howard 62, Atholton 49: Gavin Stephenson had 17 points in a losing effort for the host Raiders (11-6). The score was tied 21-21 at halftime before the Lions pulled away in the second half. Atholton coach Jim Albert will go for his 400th win Friday when the Raiders host Marriotts Ridge at 7 p.m.

Ben Franklin-Masonville 62, Friendship Academy of Science and Technology 53: Leon Fleming scored 19 points to lead the host Bayhawks (13-5) past the Cheetahs.


Tuscarora 42, No. 14 North County 27: The host Titans won the first three matches by pin and defeated the Knights (15-5). North County wrestlers who won by pin included Paty Hyde (220) and Lorenzo Maddox (285).


No. 5 Lake Clifton 75, No. 10 City 61: James Boone scored 18 points and Lionel Greene had 16 points and 10 rebounds to power the visiting Lakers (15-2) past the Knights (12-3).

Alajuwa Fisher had a game-high 22 points for City, which trailed 44-17 at the half.
