Catonsville's girls basketball coach Mike Mohler picked up his 400th career win as the No. 12 Comets beat visiting Archbishop Spalding, 45-37, on Monday.
The game was close for much of the first half, but Catonsville held Spalding scoreless for the last four minutes of the second quarter to take a nine-point halftime lead.
In the second half, the Cavaliers cut the deficit to six, but with time running out in the fourth quarter, they were forced to foul the Comets, who converted at the free-throw line.
Taylor Barton led Catonsville (12-2) with 14 points.
Centennial 60, River Hill 58 OT: With 1.8 seconds on the clock in overtime, Chad Strothers tipped in an offensive rebound to give the visiting Eagles the win. Walter Fletcher led Centennial with 18 points, shooting 9-for-11 from the field.
