No. 10 Edmondson fell behind early to No.13 Lake Clifton before settling down and into unselfish play and quick-change defenses to win, 63-52, in boys basketball Tuesday night.
The Red Storm (12-3) used ball-movement and good shot selection to build a lead. An ever-changing defense, from man-to-man to box-and-one to 1-3-1, kept the host Lakers (10-5) off balance.
Isaiah Tripp and Darius Walker each scored 14 points to power Edmondson, which next faces Riverdale Baptist at 8 p.m. Friday in the 17th annual Basketball Academy at Morgan State.
Overlea 56, Dundalk 54: The host Falcons (7-8) finally wrested control for good in the final three minutes.
Terry Lawson had a game-high 19 points for Overlea, which led by three points going into the fourth quarter.
Girls basketball
No. 1 Aberdeen 69, Dunbar 32: Despite the loss of Brionna Jones to a torn anterior cruciate ligament in her right knee, the visiting Eagles (9-2) keep rolling. Brionna Jones' sister Stephanie Jones scored a game-high 18 points and Kierra Palmer added 14 points.
Aberdeen led 32-15 at halftime.
No. 3 Archbishop Spalding 54, No. 8 Seton Keough 27: The visiting Cavaliers (17-1) won every quarter and held the Gators (10-10) to one point in the first quarter.
Jade Scaife finished with a game-high 21 points for Spalding.
Institute of Notre Dame 74, Cristo Rey Jesuit 31: Brooke Fields scored 19 points to lead the host Penguins (8-5) past the Hornets.
IND led 41-16 at halftime.
Wrestling
No. 12 Wilde Lake 54, Hammond 27: The visiting Wildecats (20-7) won seven matches by pin.
Marriotts Ridge 46, Centennial 30: The visiting Mustangs lost the opening four matches by pin before rallying to win.
Marriotts Ridge wrestlers who won by pin included: Lyle Fugate (170), Vincent Stout (182), Chris Park (195) and Ryan Austin (Hwt).
