Boys' Latin wrestled St. Mary's-Ryken to a 42-42 tie and won on criteria H, the most points scored in the first period, at the Capital Duals at St. John's (D.C.) on Saturday.
The Lakers (11-4) tied the score at 30 with a pin by Colton Haugh (106). The Knights answered with a pin at 113 and Boys' Latin won the next two weight classes by forfeit, 120 and 126, but Ryken won the last match, 132, by forfeit to tie the score at 42.
It took the eighth criteria, H, to decide a winner.
No. 10 River Hill wins three: The Hawks (17-5) started out strong and held on to beat No. 15 Loyola, 39-35, at the Cavalier Duals at Archbishop Spalding. After losing the first match (160), River Hill won eight straight and survived a late push where the Dons (9-8) won five of the last six, all by pins.
The Hawks got pins from Cory Daniel (170), Logan Kirby (195) and Michael Beck (106). The Dons got pins from David Mohler (120), Ben Smist (126), Walter Johnson (132), Jake Nordhausen (145) and Joe Moreno (152).
In the other matches, River Hill beat Kennett (Pa.), 63-12, and Arundel, 47-29, and fell to Georgetown Prep, 42-27.
Gilman 55, St. Mary's 37: The Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association B Conference-leading Greyhounds (11-4, 8-0) took a 10-point lead after the first quarter and never looked back. Ben Grace led Gilman with 19 points, and Ryan Ripken had 18.
Saint Benedict's Prep (N.J.) 89, No.1Patterson 63: The host Gray Bees (12-1) handed the Clippers (8-4) their third straight loss. Saint Benedict's Prep is ranked No. 10 in USA Today's Super 25 poll.
Seton Keough 55, No. 8 Roland Park 25: The host Gators held Daisy Alaeze to 10 points and the Reds (9-7) to seven points in the second half to pull off the upset.
