The visiting Patriots (13-7, 6-3 Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association A Conference, Black Division) dominated the first half with inside play and took a 37-31 lead at halftime. The Dragons (13-5, 7-3) switched to a zone defense to keep John Carroll away from the high-percentage shots.
Glenelg Country made 11 3-pointers, six in the first half, and took a one-point lead heading into the fourth quarter. The Dragons made 16 of their 17 foul shots in the fourth quarter, when they outscored the Patriots 20-13.
Immanuel Quickley led John Carroll with 18 points and Junior Farquhar had 16.
No. 4 Oakland Mills 69, Marriotts Ridge 59: Naquan Williams-Day scored 21 points and the visiting Scorpions (12-1) beat the Mustangs (2-10).
Oakland Mills led 16-6 after the first quarter. Cam Heard finished with 20 points for Marriotts Ridge.
No. 5 McDonogh 69, Calvert Hall 35: The host Eagles (15-6, 6-4 MIAA A Conference, Red Division) went on a 17-0 run to start the second half and beat the Cardinals (11-8, 4-5).
Noah Locke had a game-high 21 points for McDonogh.
No. 14 New Town 55, Western Tech 46: Devin Smith scored 14 points and the host Titans (9-2) led start to finish over the Wolverines (6-3).
No. 15 Perry Hall 77, Owings Mills 61: Anthony Higgs scored a game-high 26 points to power the Gators (11-1) past the host Eagles (6-6).
No. 1 McDonogh 50, No. 15 John Carroll 26: Andrea Robinson scored 15 points to lead the visiting Eagles (13-2, 6-0 Interscholastic Athletic Association of Maryland A Conference) past the Patriots (9-7, 1-5).
McDonogh made 23 field goals in the game and led 13-4 after the first quarter.
No. 7 Atholton 41, Reservoir 36: The host Raiders (10-0) used a 17-8 run in the fourth quarter to overtake the Gators (6-5).
Caitlyn Burmester had 13 points and Megan Hart had 12 points for Atholton.
Mount de Sales 52, Annapolis Area Christian School 39: Kristen Zaranski had 12 points and Allie Berlin added 10 points to power the visiting Sailors (10-7, 8-3 IAAM B Conference) past the Eagles (5-12, 3-7).
Severn 54, Maryvale 52: The host Lions (5-9, 2-7 IAAM B Conference) had a 30-27 lead at the half but fell behind and lost to the Admirals (10-6, 8-1). Molly McAleer had 23 points and Shana Hildreth had 20 points for Maryvale.
