Linde has grown into one of the state's top distance runners, someone who can handle the speed of the 800 all the way up to the different skills needed for the 3,200.
Linde won the 1,600 and 3,200 at the Class 2A state meet. She also ran on the school's 3,200 relay team that won the championship. The junior was trying to win four state titles but came up short, getting third in her final event — the 800.
"Three is not bad," she said. "I'm happy with it."
Linde was solid in all four of those events throughout the season, doing whatever Century needed. She even broke the five-minute barrier in the Class 2A West Region meet, posting a winning time of 4:59.72 to win by over 22 seconds. She'll be the runner to beat in all of her races next year.Copyright © 2015, The Baltimore Sun
