Kenny Goins

Gilman, defensive end, junior

A physical runner who had 13 sacks last season, Goins (5-10, 215) is quick to the ball, prompting one MIAA coach to call him the best defensive player he has seen. He doubles as a powerhouse running back.

Marco Jones

Boys' Latin, defensive end, senior

An excellent pass rusher who orally committed to Virginia over 13 other offers, Jones (6-3, 247) had plenty of hurries last season even though most opponents didn't pass the ball much. He also had 55 tackles and four sacks.

Dan McManus

Eastern Tech, lineman, senior

An aggressive, old-school player, McManus (5-11, 240) had 92 tackles and 11 sacks last season for the state Class 2A champions. His quickness, speed and pass-rushing ability have drawn interest from Bucknell.

Deontay McManus

Dunbar, safety, junior

With his size, strength and nose for the ball, McManus (6-2, 215) already has five Division I offers. He had 10 interceptions last season and is ready to emerge as a leader for a solid Poets defense this fall.

Joe McCargo

Old Mill, linebacker, senior

An outside linebacker for the Class 4A state champs, McCargo (6-1, 185) makes good use of his athleticism and is projected as a safety in college. He is considering offers from Towson and Bryant.
