Holly Buckel

North Carroll, catcher, junior

Buckel had a breakout season last year, as she was a major factor in helping North Carroll reach the Class 4A state championship game. Buckel batted .433 with six doubles, 20 runs and 11 RBIs in 23 games.

Kimberly Dorsey

Franklin, infielder, sophomore

Dorsey hit .439 with three home runs and 17 RBIs, and did not commit an error playing third base.

Adrienne Gebele

Broadneck, catcher, junior

Gebele was a steady force behind the plate for the top-ranked Bruins and batted .490 with two homers and 22 RBIs. She hit a decisive three-run home run in the first inning of the Class 4A state title game against North Carroll. Gebele has committed to Ohio University.

Megan Hyson

Chesapeake-AA, pitcher, junior

Hyson, a transfer from Seton Keough and one of the top pitchers in the state, finished 14-0 with a 0.00 ERA, allowing just nine hits all season while leading the Gators to the Interscholastic Athletic Association of Maryland A Conference championship. Hyson had five no-hitters and two perfect games. She also batted .390 with a team-high four homers, and was third on the team with 15 RBIs.

Kayla Martinez

Arundel, pitcher, senior

Martinez is coming off a stellar season in which she pitched all 17 games and had a 2.06 ERA and 152 strikeouts, three no-hitters and five shutouts. She also batted .491 with 24 RBIs.

Kelli Pease

Lansdowne, outfielder, junior

Pease put fear into opposing pitchers last season by batting .406 with a .580 slugging percentage, 14 RBIs, two home runs, 34 runs and 15 stolen bases. She was also strong defensively, committing just one error and recording 11 putouts and three assists.

Kourtney Salvarola

Broadneck, pitcher, senior

The Baltimore Sun Player of the Year last season was 12-0 with 88 strikeouts and a 0.10 ERA. She also batted .619 with seven home runs and six triples. Salvarola has committed to play at South Florida.

Casey Schmidt

Glenelg, infielder, senior

Schmidt was instrumental in helping Glenelg reach the Class 1A state semifinals. She batted .551 with two home runs and 22 RBIs. Schmidt was also the Gladiators' No. 2 pitcher and had a 3.44 ERA in eight appearances.

Ashley Thomas

Broadneck, infielder, senior

Thomas was one of the most important players in the Bruins' state championship run, as she pitched a one-hit shutout in the Class 4A state semifinal, falling just short of a perfect game. She will attend Saint Francis (Pa.) next year.

Emily Weiman

Archbishop Spalding, infielder-pitcher, junior

Weiman, who has committed to North Carolina State, batted .383 with a team high seven doubles and two home runs, including a grand slam against John Carroll. She was 3-1 with a 0.50 ERA and 69 strikeouts in 28 innings.
