Reese Kiple
Broadneck
Kiple had big shoes to fill when he stepped in for the late Jim Ware this season and would have made his former colleague proud. Kiple guided the Bruins to an undefeated season and knocked off rival Chesapeake-Anne Arundel in the regional finals after losing to the Cougars in the same round the two previous years.Broadneck stormed through the regional playoffs and won the Class 4A state championship with a 5-2 victory over North Carroll. Kiple was a guiding force for his players all season and worked continuously to help them achieve personal and team goals.
When asked after the state championship game whether he thought the Bruins could go undefeated, Kiple said the team never had any doubt.
"We expect to win," Kiple said. "That's what we teach at Broadneck. [The players] had to learn how to win and now we know how to win. It was just an unbelievable season."
