Coach of the Year: Alicia Williams, Western girls track

Under Williams, 24, who ran at Howard in college, not only has the longtime city's powerhouse not missed a beat, but the Doves have also gotten better during her two years. Williams, who ran at Western under former coach Jerry Molyneaux, stopped by the school before the start of the 2007-08 season offering to help the new coach.

To Williams' surprise, there was no new coach yet, and Western offered her the job. Under Williams, 24, who ran at Howard in college, not only did the longtime city's powerhouse not miss a beat, but the Doves have also gotten better during her two years.
