In windy conditions last Wednesday, Faieq fired a 95 to capture the District 6 golf championship at Diamond Ridge Golf Course in Windsor Mill. It was the second straight week in which she enjoyed a big win at the course, having captured her first Baltimore County championship Oct. 6. Last week, Faieq had to overcome not only a talented field, but also the poor conditions to win her first district title. Despite the win, she did not qualify for this week's state championship because of the pre-determined cut of 93. Faieq qualified for states the previous two years, finishing 19th last year.
