The senior midfielder rallied the now-No. 3 Hawks from two goals down in regulation to a 4-2 shootout victory over now -No. 5 Eastern Tech for their third straight state Class 2A girls soccer crown. Seyoum scored two goals and then made the game-winning penalty kick.

She tied the game at 2-2 after halftime and, after the Mavericks went up 3-2, she scored off a long throw in the final minute of regulation. In the shootout, she nailed a penalty kick that secured the win. The Olympic Development Program veteran had 13 goals this season. She plans to play in college. Seyoum, who has a 3.7 grade-point average, is leaning toward a career in medicine.
