Wrestler of the Year Karl Green, Mount St. Joseph

The junior heavyweight was named the Outstanding Wrestler in the Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association tournament after pinning all four of his opponents. Green finished the season at 48-3 with 30 pins. In addition to winning his second consecutive MIAA title, Green was second at the National Preps after a fifth-place finish last season. He also played football for the Gaels. Green's goal is to wrestle in the Olympics.

Coach of the Year Kirk Salvo, Mount St. Joseph

Salvo led a determined group of wrestlers to its 27th MIAA AConference championship, dethroning McDonogh. Mount St. Joseph also ended McDonogh's three-year reign as champion of the Maryland Independent Schools state championships with a 275.5-230 victory. In that tournament, Mount St. Joseph had 14 wrestlers finish in the top seven in 14 weight classes. The victory also cemented Mount St.Joseph's status as the No.1 team in the state. The Gaels finished 19-4.
