Boys Performer of the Year
Michael Houston, Poly

The versatile senior was a big reason the Engineers won the Baltimore City and Class 2A Central regional titles and took second in the state. Houston won the 500 and took second in the 300 at the state and can also run relays. He also played a big role on last year's indoor and outdoor championship teams.

The Gaels had some talented athletes, such as Dorian Johnson, but Fuller got the most out of all of his performers to capture the Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association championship. Gilman had won the regular-season title, but the Gaels edged McDonogh and Gilman at the title meet. The Gaels have had star-powered lineups in seasons past, but this winter they featured a team-oriented concept in which everyone pitched in.
