2006 All-Baltimore City Girls Indoor Track team

Performer of the YearTheresa Lewis, Western

For the second consecutive year, the senior swept the 55-meter dash and 55 hurdles at the Class 4A-3A state, Central regional and Baltimore City levels. And for the second consecutive year, those accomplishments earned Lewis All-City Performer of the Year honors.

Her times of 7.16 seconds in the 55 and 8.01 seconds in the 55 hurdles at the state meet were the fastest in all three classifications.

Lewis, who competed in the shot put just once before the city championships, won the event at the city (34 feet, 7 inches) and the regional (35 -8) meets. She finished fourth in the shot put at the state championships.

Coach of the YearJerry Molyneaux, Western

That Western is a perennial powerhouse isn't news. But the Doves have been consistently at the top by cultivating maximum effort from their athletes.

That's why despite fielding a squad that was the fraction of the size of their competition's, the Doves captured their 12th straight city title and the regional crown.

Western was the metro area's highest finisher at the state meet, placing third.
