Player of the Year
Asya Bussie, Seton KeoughThe area's most powerful inside player, Bussie was always looking to go to the basket. The senior dominated opponents in the paint at both ends of the floor in leading the No.1 Gators to their first Interscholastic Athletic Association of Maryland AConference championship in nine years. She had 22points and 14rebounds in the tournament final, a 58-38 win over St.Frances that avenged two regular-season losses and gave the Gators the No.1 ranking. Bussie, a 6-foot-4 center, averaged 16points, 11rebounds and threeblocks.
Coach of the Year
Jackie Boswell, Seton KeoughThe Gators had some solid veterans in Bussie and point guard Katelyn Fischer, but they also lost some key seniors and most of their leaders. Boswell helped the veterans take on the leadership roles and helped the younger players establish their roles on the court. It all came together midway through the season. The team meshed and played unselfishly throughout the postseason as it won the IAAM AConference title and the Bishop Walsh Girls Invitational Tournament title and took over the No.1 ranking.
