Outlook: The defending Interscholastic Athletic Association of Maryland A Conference champions have won 37 straight games and 58 of their past 59. The Grizzlies are shooting for their fourth straight title, but they return only two starters — forward-midfielder Bayly Jarrett (22 goals, 1 assist) and midfielder Megan Rossi.

2. Glenelg

Coach: Ginger Kincaid

Last season: 17-1, No. 3

Postseason: Class 2A state champion

Outlook: The three-time defending Class 2A state champions return an abundance of talented players, led by senior Morgan Philie. Forwards Stephanie Asher and Megan Taylor comprise a formidable front line, while backs Molly Milani and Rachel Lee sure up a defense anchored by All-Howard County goalie Amanda Hoyt.

3. Bryn Mawr

Coach: Jeanette Budzik

Last season: 18-5, No. 6

Postseason: IAAM A Conference finalist

Outlook: Despite losing 10 seniors, the Mawrtians will again challenge for the IAAM A Conference title. Their leaders include midfielder Rachel Park, one of the area's strongest all-around players, and defender-midfielder Sophie Freeman, a three-year varsity standout.

4. South River

Coach: Megan Atkinson

Last season: 17-1-1, No. 2

Postseason: Class 4A state champion

Outlook: Atkinson, a longtime Seahawks assistant, takes over for Katie Corcoran, who stepped down after eight years. South River graduated most of their goal scorers, including a pair of All-Metro first-team picks, but return several players who gained experienced as freshmen and sophomores.
