Offensively, Cargile batted .507 with five home runs, four triples, three doubles and 34 RBIs.

“Hard work and mental toughness on the mound is what her game was all about this year,” Eastern Tech coach Jack Meyers said. “It was fun to see success for her in the circle and in the batter's box. She became a complete player.”

In one of her best games of the season, Cargile had 11 strikeouts and allowed only one earned run in eight innings in the Mavericks' 3-2 victory over Seton Keough on April 1. Her only loss came in the Class 3A state title game on May 25 as Eastern Tech fell, 3-0, to Northern-Calvert, which is ranked No. 1 in the nation by MaxPreps.
