No. 1 McDonogh girls basketball throttles No. 3 Aberdeen, 64-33

Boxing

No. 1 McDonogh defeated No. 3 Aberdeen, 64-33, on Saturday to avenge last season’s 57-51 loss to the two-time Class 3A state champions.

Maya Wynn led McDonogh (13-1) with 16 points and Brianna Jacobs added 15. Stephanie Jones led Aberdeen with 13.

Aberdeen (7-3) is still playing without point guard Kierra Palmer, who suffered a stress fracture in her left shin. Coach Amber Milnes said she is not sure when Palmer might return.

The game was the second of a two-game mixer at McDonogh. No. 5 Poly beat No. 2 Roland Park, 53-49, in the earlier game.
