The sophomore midfielder scored six goals on six shots and added an assist to lead the Magic to the Interscholastic Athletic Association of Maryland B Conference girls lacrosse championship Saturday for their first title since 2011. Tempert also had five draw controls, five ground balls and two caused turnovers as the top-seeded Magic (12-2) defeated third-seeded Friends, 14-7. She gave the Magic the lead for good with a draw control and goal within six seconds and then scored three goals in the final 1:50 of the first half to boost the Mercy lead to five. In the 15-6 semifinal win over St. John’s Catholic Prep, she contributed four goals, seven draw controls, four ground balls and two caused turnovers. In the two games, Tempert hit 72 percent of the shots she took. She finished the season with 40 goals, 21 assists, 51 draw controls, 48 ground balls and 14 caused turnovers. Tempert also plays soccer and basketball for the Magic. A veteran of the Pipeline Soccer Club, she has committed to play soccer at James Madison.
