When the pressure is on, Zoe Stukenberg is at her best.

Perhaps the best example came when her No. 2 Mustangs defeated archrival No. 7 Mount Hebron, 14-13, in double overtime during the regular season. Stukenberg scored to tie the game with about a minute left in regulation, assisted the buzzer-beating goal to force a second overtime period, then scored the game-winning goal.

Stukenberg, an All-Metro first-team selection last season, went on to lead the Mustangs (18-1) to the Class 3A-2A state championship. She picked apart defending champion Century's double-team defense for three goals and six assists en route to a 15-5 victory, Marriotts Ridge's second state title in three years.

“She does it all,” Century coach Becky Groves said. “She's very fast. Not only does she score, but she makes everyone around her better, and if you send a double, she will find the open person. To be honest, I don't think there's a way to stop her.”

Stukenberg led the Mustangs with 75 goals and 47 assists. She's an Under Armour All-American and will play next year for Maryland.
