Howard, senior

* Her winning time of 7.98 seconds in the 55 hurdles at the Class 3A state meet was the best in all four classes -- and ranked fifth in the U.S.

* Finished fifth in the 55 dash and ran on the Lions' fourth-place 800 relay and sixth-place 1,600 relay teams at the state meet

* Won the 55 hurdles and placed fourth in the 55 dash at the Class 3A East regional meet

* Also won both the 55 dash and 55 hurdles at the Howard County title meet

Julia Nardone

Glenelg, sophomore

* Proved to be the top distance runner in Class 2A this winter

* Won both the 1,600 (5:09.75) and 3,200 (11:19.54) at the Class 2A state championship meet

* Also finished in first place in both events at the Class 2A Central regional meet

* Only ran the 1,600 twice -- at the regional and state meets -- but dominated both times

Tabitha Pyatt

Poly, junior

* Finished second in the high jump at the Class 4A state meet (5 feet, 4 inches)

* Also was second in the Class 4A Central regional meet with a jump of 5-4

* Won the Baltimore City championship meet with her jump of 5-1

* Ran different events, including sprints and relays, to help the Engineers several times during the season

Emma Staisloff

Severna Park, senior

* Won pole vault at most events, but she lost to Chesapeake-AA's Sarah Taylor in the Class 4A state meet

* Set a record of 10 feet, 6 inches with her winning performance at the Anne Arundel County championship meet

* Finished first at the Class 4A Central regional meet with a vault of 11-6

* Placed third in the state title meet (10-6) as Westminster's Alex Howell also vaulted that height
