Performer of the Year

Brinae Robinson, Western

Robinson came up with a big victory in the Class 3A 800-meter run that helped Western break the meet open and run away with the title. The junior has been one of the strong middle-distance runners in Baltimore City and the state throughout her varsity career and has grown into a leader for the Doves. In addition to winning the 800, Robinson took fourth in the 1,600 and ran on the first-place 3,200 relay and the runner-up 1,600 relay teams. Robinson gives coach Alicia Williams a number of options with her ability to run so well in the middle-distance races -- and the way she helps on relays makes her even more valuable.

Coach of the Year

Alicia Williams, Western

The former Western runner guided the Doves to the Class 3A state title. Williams does a good job of teaching the team members how to work together and the need to help each other. She understands the program because she was such a big part of it during her years there. Williams, in her second season, has fit in nicely after longtime coach Jerry Molyneaux moved to Northwestern.
