Player of the Year: Anna Struhar, Century

The senior was the foundation of a freshman-dominated team that defied long odds to claim Carroll County and Class 2A West regional titles. Struhar went 10-4 with a county-low 0.92 ERA, striking out 112 batters in 84 innings.

A first baseman when she wasn't on the mound, Struhar devoured opposing pitching, batting .446 with four home runs, 24 RBIs and a .500 on-base percentage. She will continue her career at Division III Shenandoah University.

Coach of the Year: Jay Seaborg, Century

Despite relying on five freshman to fill starting roles, the first-year coach led Century to Carroll County and Class 2A West regional championships. It was the first county title for the Knights, who finished 16-7, including 5-1 in the county, and topped Francis Scott Key, 2-1, for their third straight regional crown.

This season marked Seaborg's return to high school coaching following an 11-year layoff. He previously spent five years coaching the junior varsity and serving as a varsity assistant at Atholton.
