Boys Athlete of the Week (March 18, 2014): Timmy Bond, City, basketball

The senior guard, a three-year starter, was clutch in helping the No. 1 Knights capture the Class 3A state championship and complete a perfect 27-0 season last Saturday. After a difficult shooting performance in the Knights' 56-36 semifinal win over Urbana on Thursday, Bond finished with a game-high 16 points in Saturday's 59-48 win over Westlake for the championship. He went 4-for-4 on 3-pointers, including a pivotal one to start the fourth quarter that gave the Knights the lead for good. The 6-foot-5 Bond averaged 12 points, seven rebounds and six assists per game this season.
