Western Tech, sprints, senior

Akosa won the Class 1A 200- and 400-meter state titles last spring. He also runs on relays and always gives the Wolverines points.

Long Reach, sprints, senior

Carter combined with Tosin Oyewole to help the Lightning with the Class 3A indoor state title. Carter won the state title in the 55-meter hurdles there, edging out City's Robert Miller.

Ryan Forsyth

Severna Park, distance, senior

Forsyth won state titles in cross country and indoor track and was The Baltimore Sun's All-Metro Runner of the Year during the fall season. Forsyth anchors a deep Severna Park distance squad.

Chris Heydrick

River Hill, distance, junior

Heydrick will be one of the area's top distance runners this spring. He put on a great performance at the indoor track state championship meet, winning the 800- and 1,600-meter in Class 3A.

John Mead

Century, distance, senior

Mead helped Century win the Class 2A state title last spring, but has taken it to another level this year. Mead ran in the 800, 1600, 3,200 and relays indoors to help Century.

Nick Neral

Century, pole vault/hurdles/high jump, junior

Neral can score in all three of these events, but the pole vault was his best indoors. He won the Carroll County, region and Class 2A state titles in the pole vault.
