Jason Ashwood
Hereford, attackman, senior
Quick and crafty, Ashwood brings a nonstop approach that sets a tremendous pace for the Bulls attack. Equally effective finishing or setting up teammates, he had 49 goals and 42 assists last year, including a four-goal effort in the state title win against Glenelg. Ashwood is set to play at High Point next season.
Ryan Conrad
Loyola, midfielder, junior
Fast, strong and fiercely competitive, Conrad will be leaned on to carry the offensive load and bring leadership for the defending Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association A Conference champion Dons. Committed to Virginia, Conrad enters his third varsity season coming off a 22-goal, 32-assist sophomore season.
Joey Creaghan
Bel Air, midfielder, senior
A solid two-way midfielder in his fourth varsity season, Creaghan (25 goals, 15 assists last season despite missing time with an injury) does a lot of everything to hold down the middle for the Bobcats. He dominates on ground balls, is slick in transition and can score from the outside or get to goal.
Nick Forrest
Glenelg, attackman, senior
The focal point of the Gladiators’ attack, Forrest draws heavy attention from opposing defenses and makes them pay. He can score from anywhere, or set up teammates. His 54-goal, 34-assist junior season gave him 107 goals and 49 assists in his first three varsity seasons.
Ryan Hursey
Westminster, midfielder, senior
The 6-foot-4 Hursey (34 goals, 49 assists last season) is a towering presence for the defending Class 4A-3A state champions, bringing strong vision, excellent dodging skills and a tremendous outside shot. He’s a four-year varsity player and two-year captain, set to play at Georgetown next year.
Kieran Jenkins
Severna Park, defenseman, senior
Leadership, athleticism, competitiveness — the Georgetown-bound Jenkins brings all those qualities to the Falcons’ defense, and does so with a gritty approach that sets a positive tone. With his size, speed and tenacity, he’ll be counted on to regularly cover the opposing team’s top scoring threat.
Timmy Kelly
Calvert Hall, attackman, junior
With tremendous speed and the ability to quickly change direction, Kelly showed he can score and feed with a 43-goal, 38-assist sophomore season that earned him All-Metro second-team honors. With several contributors from least season graduated, Kelly will be the primary scoring option for the Cardinals.
Shack Stanwick
Boys’ Latin, attackman, senior
A four-year starter and All-Metro first-team pick last season, Stanwick is the area’s most dominant offensive threat with an equal ability to score and set up teammates. Headed for Johns Hopkins, he had 36 goals and 51 assists last season to up his career totals to 91 goals and 125 assists for 216 points.
Brinton Valis
McDonogh, midfielder, senior
An All-Metro second-team selection last season, Valis sets the tone for the Eagles his skill, intensity and leadership. A co-captain headed to Johns Hopkins, he’s an excellent dodger with an ability to score with either hand. With added size and strength, he’ll build on last year’s 27-goal, 11-assist output.
Mikey Wynne
St. Paul’s, attackman, senior
After spending his first two seasons at Glenelg, the Notre Dame-bound Wynne exploded onto the MIAA A Conference with a record-breaking junior season at St. Paul’s. Skilled and relentless, the All-Metro second-team pick set a single-season program record last season with 69 goals and added 24 assists.
