Outlook: The Falcons will have the best distance squad in the state. The big question is whether they have enough in other spots to fight for a championship.

Postseason: Third in MIAA

Outlook: Tyler Spear leads a strong group of distance runners that should also win relay points. The Dons must find a way to score in sprints and/or field events.

7. Mount St. Joseph

Last season: No. 9

Postseason: Fourth in MIAA

Outlook: Versatile athletes such as Landrie Hatcher give the Gaels some scoring punch — they just need to find more of it in their lineup.

8. Digital Harbor

Last season: No. 4

Postseason: Class 3A state champion

Outlook: The Rams lost some key performers from last year's Class 3A state title team. Still, they should have enough depth to grow and make some noise.

9. Long Reach

Last season: Unranked

Postseason: Second in Class 2A

Outlook: The Lightning finished second in the state in Class 2A last year. If the seniors who showed so much improvement as juniors go a step further this season, this could be a good team.

10. Mount Hebron

Last season: No. 8

Postseason: Third in Class 3A

Outlook: Production from young members of the team might be the difference-maker for Mount Hebron.
